A common issue when starting a new venture is to try and get everything ready before you start. All to often this becomes an impossible tasks, due to the cost and also the time. Recently during a client meeting we were chatting about possible website functionality. As we were considering the various options it became clear that the ongoing liability of the site had not been taken into consideration.
Social Media is awesome but can take a lot of time to do properly. Blogs are an easy way to tell a business narrative, but are an ongoing commitment. Out of date websites can put customers off with incorrect availability and inaccurate pricing but require time and policy to keep up to date.
So why do I bring this up? Well, for a small business website features often turn into burdens absorbing time and cash - better to build simple rather than build a website which becomes a distraction and liability.
